I don't usually like to go to clubs to see punk bands as the ticket prices are way too expensive and most of the times the show sucks but it was Youth Brigade and decided to give it a shot.
I had seen some reunion shows from old punk bands and 90% of them just left me thinking that I could spent my money on alcohol than go to the show,the worst of them being Misfits and Buzzcocks back in 2004. So I had the right to be suspicious for this show! Thankfully I was proven totaly wrong as Youth Brigade were awesome in every aspect,
their set lasted for about an hour and played all their classics driving the crowd crazy!
What I liked most was that between songs the singer said a few words for the next song and interacted with the people unlike most of these old fuckers that think they're rockstars and don't talk to anyone besides their bandmates! Highlight of the show for me was when he asked the crowd: "Are you grown-ups? Well,I'm not! I mean...I'm in a band called Youth Brigade man!"
I left the show motivated and inspired that I should start a punk band right fuckin' now,something that no band had managed to do before!

Go Filth GoThat was one hell of a show,no doubt about it!
Go Filth Go from Thessaloniki kicked in first dropping a noise punk dis-truction A-bomb heavily influenced by Disclose and got everyone moving and swinging fists in the air! They added a delay pedal in the vocals for the first time and in my humble opinion their sound is now 100% complete.If you're into bands like Disclose (duh!),Kuro,Confuse etc then you need to check'em out for sure!
Antimob from Athens took over the stage next and blew the brains out of everyone in the room with their loud-as-fuck "burning spirits" influenced hc/punk! Hard-hitting songs with a political edge and non-stop guitar solos! Fuck yeah!
After two greek bands that are solely influenced from Japanese bands of the past two decades it was time for the masters! Crude started off with a rock-ish intro and confused most people who weren't familiar with their sound and expected to hear plain hc/punk!
Anyway,their set was amazing and got everyone pleased,the highlight was when they played "Stand and Fight" and turned the crowd in a pile of flying bodies! This show definitely goes in my all-time top 5! As a side note to guitar players,if you missed the show then you missed one of the best guitarists around these days!! He may not speaked a word of english but when on stage he talked through his guitar! Fuckin' A!

No photos from this show 'cause I had just got back from short vacations and I didn't carry my camera with me.
The show was poorly attented because it was in the middle of the summer and most people prefer to visit the greek islands than a grindcore show! Anyways, both bands were really great if you like the genre but the only let down was that there were no "support" bands so the whole thing ended early.
Bestial Vomit from Italy play noise/grindcore,wall-of-noise guitar,bass that sounds like a tank bombing the fuck out of everything(!),hard-hitting drums and vocals from the deepest cave!
I liked them better live than on record,maybe it's the feeling missing from the recordings.
Archagathus are one of my favorites along with Agathocles and I was really eager to see them live. Powerfull,old-school,mincing grindcore from Canada! Their sound was totally primitive and raw,just how I love it! You can check both bands here: Bestial Vomit and Archagathus.

March Into The VoidThat was one of the rare occassions to get my ass to a show in a far away city to watch four greek bands and thankfully it was worth it! The show was inside the University campus of Kozani (north west greece) and the unholy punks decided to do it in front of a church!

Not too many people attented the show but the atmosphere was good and the bands made it even better.
The first band was Atopia,a new band from Athens with a metallic sound and complex song structures that bring to mind Rising Terror (Ανατέλλων Τρόμος),actually the guitar player from Rising Terror is playing in Atopia,so I guess that has something to do with their sound.
For the record,Atopia has ex-members from 925,Avgrund Livet and Rising Terror,I'm looking forward to hear some recorded material from them.
Next were March Into The Void from Thessaloniki,now these guys deliver some of the best dark,epic crust/metal I've heard the last years! Their sound is well worked out as well as the songs,two bands that come to mind as comparisons are Beggining Of The End (from U.K) and Morne (from the the U.S.A). The highlight of their set was the "Darkest Hour" cover from the almighty Amebix! You can check the band here: March Into The Void
Hellstorm from Kozani took over the stage next and blew everyone away with their old-school crust! If Wolfpack and Hellshock formed a band they would sound like Hellstorm!
A great first live and I hope they keep it up and see some releases soon. Check 'em out here: Hellstorm. Last were a very new band from Kozani that also played their first show there,Last Breath had only rehearsed 7 times before they play live but that didn't stop them to unleash their fast hc/street punk tunes! I love it when fresh-formed bands go out and play shows just after a month or less,as long as they think they're ready of course! These guys need to work some more and they'll be perfect,if you like bands like The Restarts,GBH,Chaos UK and the like,then you'll definitely like Last Breath.
The night ended with the best possible way as we all got shitfaced and hit the city center for further drunkness and good times! Thanx to all the bands and people that made our short stay in Kozani a memorable one and special thanx to the Last Breath bassist for sharing his house,cheers!!

Fuckin' finally some pics from the Bloody Phoenix show in Athens!!! Unfortunately no pics from Bloody Phoenix(!) 'cause my camera refused to run on low battery! Anyways,this show was really nice and the almost all the supporting bands were from out of town,well except Devastation Of Life.
I'm not gonna provide a show review since it's kinda useless now after all this time but one thing that deserves to be mentioned is that Cut Your Throat and Go Filth Go destroyed everything in their path!!!
New releases coming from both bands so be sure to check'em out.
Bloody Phoenix had a great set too but I was too tired to fully enjoy them,at least I got their latest LP which rules!

Not a new post for a long time now! Sorry for this but I have a lot of stuff to take care and they were far more important than updating this blog!
So know I'm in Copenhagen,Denmark for vacations,I was lucky to see some really great bands and meet cool new people and I plan as soon as I get back to greece to post a ton of great pictures from shows and from the city!

Long time since the last post! Too many stuff to take care of and lazyness is to blame for it!
Anyway,here's some photos from the Skarpretter show at Lelas Karagianni squat (the squat hosts punk shows only once a year,celebreting the squat's birthday).
The show space is small and it's always crowded but that was no problem 'cause everyone was jumping around during Skarpretters' set!
The first band was Abra Macabra,a new punk band but with a dark,almost new wave/post punk sound,like a punkier version of Joy Division! Their set,although short,had this very dark feeling and the bands stage presence added more to it. A band I'd like to see some more times with a better sound.
Mavra Provata is a crust/hc band from Patras,their songs and sound are straight from the Tragedy/From Ashes Rise school,although last time I saw them they had a more personal sound.Anyway their set was good and enjoyable but I don't think I would listen to their songs at home more than once! I enjoy listening to bands with a personal sound,not copycats.
Skarpretter from Denmark took the stage next and got everyone in the punk rock mood!
For those of you who don't Skarpretter,they play '77-style punk rock but a with a clear anarcho leaning to their lyrics and attitude. The bands members were all involved with the Ungdomshuset squat (that got evicted and demolished after three days of strong resistance!) and they dedicated the show to people that go out in the streets and fight the fuckin' system! Fuck yes!
By the way,all the pictures are taken from Kristi (I forgot to bring my camera at the show!),she's a better photographer than me!

This was the first show in the new Katarameno Syndromo and I dare to say that it was a fuckin' blast! The show space kicks ass,it's a small basement with great punk decoration,great sound and as always it's perfect for small sweaty punk shows like this one! Good luck with your next shows there punx!
On to the show now,Aas played first,I haven't seen them for awhile and their set blew me away,maybe the sound was better compared to their previous shows or they just got better! I don't know and I don't give a fuck! They rocked! Great and simple punk rock'n'roll vibes that get you in a dancing mood from the first beat!
Next were Screaming Fly whom I've never heard before but they managed to get me going and wanting for more,rock'n'roll mixed with psychedelic rock and lots of other stuff! Hope to see them again soon.
Cheap Time from the U.S delivered some pop-garage punk and got everyone dancing. No slow/mid tempo pop-shit-punk here! Fast and crazy garage punk like the Mummies and The Queers. I want more!!!
Cheers to everyone attending this show and once again good luck in the future,It's very refreshing to get a new show space in this hellhole called Athens!

Schwartz and Anger,Multi Culti,Timetrap,Javaspa,Crescendo,Kalazaar @ Villa Amalias squat

This was the squats' first show in almost a year since the attack by fascists which caused some heavy damage on the building,fortunately everything turned out great and most of the damages are now fixed! There was some really great job done! This show was for the squats' 19th birthday by the way.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to see all the bands cause of the large attendance (the show space was packed!) and partly because I was tired being there 4-5 hours before the show starts,so I just saw my good friends SchwartzandAnger who were the first band on stage.Powerfull and energetic as always! Fast,hard-hitting crust/grind with some dose of swedish death metal! Fuckin' A!
We (Kalazaar) played last,around 3 o'clock after midnight,it was one of our best shows so far and for that we have to thank all of our friends dancing and throwing (mostly half full) beer cans at us!
Well that's it! I 'd like to apologize to the rest of the bands from the show not reviewed here,sorry guys but I was too tired to stay and watch all the bands! I promise I'll make up to it :)

XlosI found out about this show just one day before it take place and I was curious to check Plague Mass from Austria,plus I got to see some great greek bands I haven't checked for a while and guess what? It kicked ass!!! First were Xlos,a local punk/hc band with some ska thrown in (personally I hate mixing ska with punk except some bands that do it very well like SkaP or Less Than Jake!),anyway they were good until the ska-punk songs came in! Cesnored Sound had a really great and energetic set,they play old-school sxe hc (although the members are not sxe as far as I know,but who gives a fuck!),they reminded me of Youth Of Today and Judge but they manage not to be just another hc revival band by adding great guitar leads. Next were Endsight (former For What It's Worth),I liked their old songs,which they still play live,and I was curious about their new line-up,turned out to be far more superior! Fast,hard-hitting,in-your-fuckin'-face metalic hc!!! And by metalic I don't mean metal-shit-core! More in the vein of Darkest Hour's Mark of the Judas lp mixed with good '90's hc like Strife! Keep it up guys!

Plague Mass stepped on the stage next and delivered some great new-school hc mixed with From Ashes Rise-style crust,their set seemed sort though and to say the truth it was the crowds' fault 'cause most of them left when Ensign finished their set! What the fuck people?! Anyway Plague Mass were really great and they have their hearts in the right place,they dedicated the whole set to Alex Grigoropoulos (R.I.P) and to the people who took part in the December riots following Alex's murder.Definetely a band I'd like to watch again under better conditions!
Unforunatelly I only took pics from Xlos and Plague Mass because I had no batteries in my camera! (for once again!).Yeah,I know..I'm a fuck up!

So here's the review for this show,it took a lot of time 'cause I had lots of things to take care of first (I moved to a new place and still try to get my shit together).
Anyways this show kicked major ass! It was great at all aspects, great sound,great crowd and plus it was a benefit gig for the prisoners of the December riots in Greece.
First band was Kalazaar,it was our best show so far and we all enjoyed it,well besides our drummer who was ill but still managed to deliver!
Next were Rivals!,for those of you who don't know,Rivals! come from the ashes of xFor No Reasonx,a great new sxe old-school hardcore band with the right spirit!
The next band was Insuiciety from Berlin (actually all members are from Poland but reside in Berlin for some years),they were fuckin' awesome at stage to say the least! Sludge/crust attack with some dark melodies that fit great.
Infekcja took over the stage next and destroyed our ears with their grinding harshness these Polish fucks deliver for over a decade!
Last were D.A.T,it's a new band and they play crusty punk hc,well by the time they played I was too drunk to pay attention,but from what I heard they were nice! Hopefully I'll pay more attention next time!

Benefit/solidarity live for the prisoners of the December riots In Greece.

After the December riots and in a critical time for the greek anarchist/anti-authoritarian movement,we decided to put up a diy punk concert to help financialy the prisoners at the old EMI record factory in Athens.The place is abandoned for years and it was a great opportunity to set up a show there because it served another cause,our despise for the music industry!
At the morning of the 31st of January we got in the building and started to clean up the floor and set up a stage.It should be noted that at the same day there was a fascist meeting in the center of Athens called by an extreme right wing organization,Xrisi Avgi (Golden Dawn),also at the morning there was also a demonstration called by anarchists so not a lot of people could be with us from the start at the EMI factory for helping and "guarding" the place.Most people were at the demonstration or at an anti-fascist meeting.However everything turned out ok,no cops or fascists showed up to the concert.
We were expecting about 300 people to show up and we were worried if the money collected from the show were enough! The speakers and p.a we rented costed 500 euros and the alcohol costed 250 euros,so we had spend a lot of money already! We were suprised when we figured out that after the show we had more than 1100 euros and about 400 people attended! Everything turned out really great!
About the show now,the bands that played were Asfyxia,Ysteria and Kalazaar.I play in Kalazaar so I'm not the one to say if the people liked our music or what we had to say (although I saw a lot of people enjoying our set!),by the way we play old-school anarcho-punk with some d-beat influences! Ysteria,a band from Alexandroupoli (north greece,close to the border with Turkey) played a really great set,I haven't seen them live for some years and was suprised to find out they're even better on stage than on the cd! They play old-school punk rock with fast songs and sing-alongs.The last band,Asfyxia,got the crowd going with their heavy old-school crust punk,they were out of tune sometimes because they hadn't a rehearsal for a long time but they were great nevertheless.
After the show a party started with some punk and metal music,at that time everyone had a smile on their faces and was having a good time.
All the money collected were placed in a bank account for the prisoners.
It was the first live we set as Athens Anarchopunk collective and I hope more will follow!

Solidarity/benefit show for the prisoned people of the December riots in Greece. There will also be a benefit compilation cd-r from the three bands playing the show (Asfyxia,Ysteria and Kalazaar). All the money gathered will be send to the prisoners for their court expenses as well as their daily needs inside the prison. The show takes place in the old EMI/Columbia record factory....at the ruins of the music industry!

Athens, Greece: 16-year-old shot dead by policeman. Actions all over Greece

On Saturday 6th of December at around 10pm, two Greek policemen were in patrol in a central street by Exarchia square, in the center of Athens. They had a verbal argument with some young people who were there. During the argument, one of the cops pulled his gun and shot a 16-year-old guy twice. The victim was moved to Evangelismos Hospital to be found dead. According to eye-witnesses, the cop had been swearing against the young man, showing his genitals, before shooting him.

In a spontaneous response, thousands of people gathered in the centers of most of Greek cities. In Athens, people gathered outside Evangelismos Hospital, in order to prevent the cops from entering the building. A little later the riot police attacked in a street in Exarchia resulting to one person being arrested. The evening in Athens evolved with a spontaneous assembly in the Polytechnic University, a lot of riots in the whole center of Athens including attacks against police departments and banks, until the early hours of the next morning. Meanwhile, a spontaneous demonstration took place, but it was confronted by the riot police with tear gas. Three more University building, the Economic, the Pantion and the Law School have been occupied.Rallies, demonstrations, direct actions and riots took place all around the country. In Thessaloniki, a big spontaneous demonstration took place, while 2 Police Departments were attacked, several bank departments were burnt and Egnatia str., the main street, was block by burning trash bins for hours. Reports have been also posted about actions in Yannena, Iraklio Chania, Komotini, Mitilini, Xanthi, Serres, Sparta, Alexandroupolis and Volos.

I'm really bored to write a review for this show,so I'll just say a few things about each band and that's it! First of all,the show was really great,not too many people showed up 'cause it was on a working day but that's the way I like it! Anyways,Formikation opened the set for once more but I only saw them play their last three songs because I was late! Great as always! Heavensore were next,I had heard their name before but never got the chance to see them live. They are a progressive sludge metal/rock band,they played one 40-minute long track which,to say the truth,kinda bored the hell out of me! The opening riff dragged for too long and kinda lost its interest after a while...I will check them out again though cause they are capable for some really great songs! Trap Them literally destroyed the fuckin' stage! It was one of the bands that wanted to witness live 'cause I knew about the life-changing shows they put on! For those of you who don't know Trap Them,they have a lot of sludge/crust infuences,like His Hero Is Gone for instance and a lot of grindcore mostly Nasum-style,add some of their personal touch on the music and you got a fuckin' raging band! Grief were next,they're one of oldest sludge bands out there along with EyeHateGod.Pure hate for the human race and misery for this stale world is what they're all singing about! They played a long set which included all the great songs they've ever written,their stage presence was exactly as their songs....slow and heavy as fuck with tons of misery..fuckin' brilliant!

I was looking forward to this show since Disfear are one of my all time favorites,plus Doomriders played too which are an awesome doom rock band from U.S.A.
I have not much to say about this show except that everyone who missed it made a huge mistake! The only bad thing was the fuckin' ticket price! 25 euros!!! That shit only happens in Greece! Anyway,let's move on...first were Greet The Dead,a crust band from Thesalloniki,it was the second time I saw them on stage and I must say that it was kinda of a let down,the main reason was their new vocalist,his voice was repeatitive and with no passion. Of course that is my opinion,so you better check them out yourselves and decide! Next were Dead Vows, a hardcore punk band from Sweden. Their music is not anything special but they had energy on stage and I liked some of their songs a lot,be sure to check'em out. Fuckin' Doomriders took over the stage next and I was in the right mood to enjoy some doom rock! I've been listening to their only lp,which by the way is really great, for a couple of months now and I was looking forward to check them live! They were great! Unfortunately not a lot of people digged their set,but who cares since I and my friends did! Last were Disfear....their set was as powerfull as it can be! They played for about an hour and their set included new (Misanthropic Generation,Powerload,Rat Race,The Furnace) and old songs like Det Sista Kriget and they even played a song from their first 7"! Really awesome band on stage with a lot of energy,plus they were really cool people unlike some "big" crust/punk bands out there that act like fuckin' Guns and Roses!
Also don't forget to check their latest record (Live The Storm),it's a blast!

Hi to everyone! It's been a long time since the last post but there were no shows to take pics of,well except one but I was bored and it wasn't that good anyway! Ok,before I start the gig review I should let you know that this was thee best show I've ever attended! Seriously! That said,it's time to move on to the review.
First were Formikation from Athens,some of you that keep track of my posts may remember them from an older show at KS94. They have progressed a lot from then and their set sounds a lot more mature now,they play grindcore but with a more progressive take and they also have a lot of punk and metal elements.Think Magrudergrind,old-school grind like Napalm Death mixed with old Nasum songs and Burst! Yeah,I know it sounds weird but that's what it comes to mind when I hear their songs!Anyways,their set was fuckin' killer despite the inactive crowd! Keep it up guys! Next were Progress Of Inhumanity also from Athens,I hadn't heard this band before but a friend of mine told me that I'll love them...and I did! They don't have a bassist (Formikation don't have a bassist either!) but that was no handicap whatsoever! Old-fuckin' school,in-your-face crusty grind with small doses of metal,now I'm a sucker for crust/grind and these guys surely know how to play this type of shit! They reminded me of Dropdead at times but with more complicated song structures ,overall they were really great and you should give 'em a listen if you get the chance. Desecration were next,they share two members with Extreme Noise Terror but sound nothing like'em! They play old-school death metal,personally I hate death metal so I was just waiting for them to end their set! Some people from the crowd seemed to like their songs (yes,all of them were metalheads!),so I'll just shut up!
Extreme Noise Terror took the stage aterwards and from the first note I knew this was gonna be one hell of a show! Both singers were original members so you got the awesome combination of their first record! I should mention here that I accidentally hit Dean (one of the vocalists) in the teeth! I was so fuckin' excited and I had my fist in the air in front of the stage and he banged his head right on my fist! At first I thought: oh shit...I'm gonna get my ass kicked for that!!!..but he smiled at me and everything were fine,thinking back on it,it's fuckin' hilarious! Anyway,their set was perfect,playing mostly old songs as well as some new that are really good if not equally great as their old stuff and everyone left the show with a smile in his/her face,it's fuckin' Extreme Noise Terror we're talking about here,how someone could not be happy after seeing them live?
Something else I should mention is that one of the singers talked between tracks and explained what each song was about and commented on some social and political issues,to some that might sound indifferent but for me it's very important.Don't forget that Extreme Noise Terror played in the U.K crust/punk scene in the early '80's with politically minded and active bands such as Discharge,Chaos U.K,Antisect and the like.

Here's the last post for the Arm Your Desires fest from the 3rd day of extreme drinking and musical destruction! It was a killer day and everyone partied fuckin' hard! First on stage were Dyspnea,a dark crust band from the rainy mountains of Tyrnavos! Even though they had some serious sound problems (an almost burned out guitar amp and electricity problems) they put on a great show and they sounded way better than the last time I saw them! Old-school crust attack! Next were Hibernation,if you're not familiar with this band then there's something wrong with you! It's the oldest Greek crust band that is still active and they never disapoint live! They played some new tracks,that I might add that they were great,in the vein of their older material,and all of the classics! I hope they have plans for a new release soon! Next,if I remember correctly,were Schizogony,a brutal death band from Athens. I took no pictures of them 'cause I had some drinks and a chat with some friends I haven't seen for awhile.It was typical brutal death metal and to say the truth I don't like this style at all but who cares what I think! Moving on,next were Απέχθεια (Aversion).I had heard good things about them and I was very curious to finally see them play live.I was fuckin' blown out! Disclose/Mob 47 worship all the way! Ultra noizy distorted guitar,bass that resembles the sound your head makes when you hit the concrete pavement and drums that hit you like a fuckin' A-bomb!!! Even the guitarist's voice sounds like Kawakami's! Keep it up fuckers! Terrorismo Musical were next,they play raw crust/gore/grind and their lyrics have a clear political leaning which I like that,unlike most bands of this genre that only write songs about blood and rotten meat! Anyway,after a couple of songs the one guitar amp blown out and they had to continue with only one guitar which was a real shame 'cause they have a fat and distorted sound with both guitars that's great.But they didn't disapoint even with one guitar! By the way the just released a split 7" with Disturbance Project which is great,check them out! Next were Black Trinity from Thesalonniki,they play old-school black metal like old Mayhem,Sarcofago and Darkthrone! My only complaint is that the drummer needs to exercise his blast-beat and use it all the time! They even played a Mayhem cover! Praise the Dark Lord fuckers! Last were Melanocetus Muray,a harsh noise band also from Thesalonniki,it was clear that they improvised on stage but if you were there your mind would've been destroyed from the ultra distorted howling bass! It can't be described with words! The vocalist made some really creepy screams and screeches that fit the (anti) music perfectly.
After all the bands played a jam session started mostly with grind/noise stuff and I was drunk enough to dance with my friends and forget about the next day and that we had to leave and get back to the miserable routine of everyday life........

Sardanapalm DeathBy the time I had just recovered from last day's hangover the first band started their set! First were Sardanapalm Death from Patra.Their sound is what I call "Napalm Death goes hardcore"! Anyway,they had a good set and they were great opening for what it seemed like a promising day! Right after Sarabante from Athens took over the stage.This was their first show in nearly 2 years,they have a new line up and I was looking forward to see them live.I was fuckin' stoked!!! They play Swedish hc/crust with a lot of melodies and a howling bass that sounds like a fuckin' tank destroying everything in its path!!! Awesome! Asfyxia from Athens were next and they were tighter and better from all the other times I've seen their ugly faces on stage! Old-school,in-your-face crusty/hc.They were very energetic on stage and the people really enjoyed it. A lot of people had high hopes for the next band since it's one of the old Greek hc bands that reunited recently and play live extensively.It's Panikos I'm talking about! I saw them in Kavala some time ago and I was waiting for something great but they were just good,at the time I thought it was the sound that did them no good but from what it seemed that was not the case!Anyway,they played a short set of songs with large pauses between the songs and just before you noticed they were off the stage!By the time the next band was preparing to get on stage I was drunk and I needed something to relax and then it came to me that the next band was Johnny and the Carbonaras!!! I've seen them before and I was excited to see them again.They play psychedelic/surf/rock'n'roll and it's perfect if you're drunk or stoned! They had a great set and the sound was really good,I could hear everything clearly.Two thumbs up! Last but not least were Aas from Athens.They were all drunk but they managed to play a great show and get the vibe accross.Chaotic,garage-y,rock'n'roll guitars accompanied by fast drumming and groovy bass! They played for an hour or so if I remember correctly! Fuck yeah!!!

Finally a new post! Here are some photos from the first day of Arm Your Desires fest.Unfortunately lots of bands canceled the last moment because they had unexpected obligations or for more serious reasons but anyway the fest was a blast! So here we go,the first band was called Melitzanes Toursi,a local band (sorry but I can't translate it in English!).They were a very young band and they only played covers from Anti-Flag,Nirvana,Blur (with altered lyrics!) and some others I can't recall now.I liked the Anti-Flag cover but it should be faster! This was their first show so I hope they'll get better and write they're own material.Next were Adikaiologitos Apon (Unjustifiable Missing),this was their last show and I must confess that this was their best show ever! They were tight and in time unlike all the other times I've seen them! They play old-school Greek punk like Stress and Genia Tou Xaous (Chaos Generation).Too bad they broke up,I wanted more! Gegen Den Strom played their second show but it was nowhere near as good as their first in Villa Amalias squat some time ago! I guess they were all tired and/or drunk! They were not bad at all,they just didn't had the energy and excitement of their first show!For those who are not familiar with them,they play Greek crusty hc in the vein of Chaotic End and Panikos with male and female vocals.
I forgot to mention the 2 hip-hop bands that played first before all the punk bands,Speira and Propaganda.I'm not familiar with hip-hop but I can assure you that both bands were good and I liked a lot of the samples they used...give them a listen if you like the genre!

This show was not for the faint-hearted! Crazy,brutal death/grindcore from 4 great Greek bands! It should be noted that the show was a benefit for Villa Amalias squat,the squat was attacked about a week ago and a big part was destroyed by fire,so we decided to give the money from the door (actually all the Greek diy shows have no entrance fee..there's just a box on the door and people leave as much money as they want) to help with the reconstruction of the squat.
The first band was Drowned In Conservatives from the city of Patras,brutal death all the way! I'm not that fond of this style but they were good and I think this was they're first show in Athens.Next were Formikation from Athens,that's a great band that really stands out! More powerviolence than grindcore,kinda like the almighty Magrudergrind.No bass here 'cause there's no need for one! The guitar was heavy as fuck,furious drumming and double-style vocals from the singer,throat-shredding and cookie-monster! Very energetic on stage!
Devastation Of Life on they're first show n Athens fuckin' destroyed! Regular readers of this blog will already know about this band as I reviewed their first show in Thessaloniki.They've only got tighter and better since then! Pure grindcore madness! Short songs,heavy,distorted bass and guitar,ultra fast blast beats and pitch-shifted vocals from the depths of hell! Fuck yes! Keep it harsh! Last but not least were Cut Your Throat from Thessaloniki,it's been a while since the last time they played in Athens so I was eager to see them once more and I new they had some new songs for us! They play pathologic grindcore and they're fuckin' good at it! I can't say anything more about them than that their set was mind blowing!
Cheers to all the bands and people who showed up and supported last night...till next time...support your local scene fuckers!

Gegen Den Strom,Kalazaar,Grrrz @ Villa Amalias squat

This was a pretty diverse show! Two punk/hc bands and one industrial punk!!! I love these kind of shows 'cause there are a lot of different people than an all crust punk show or whatever and everyone is having a good time eventually! Anyway,on to the bands now.First were Gegen Den Strom from Athens,this was their very first live appearance and I was looking forward to see them on stage 'cause I really liked the one song I heard on the net.They remind me a lot of Detestation and Contravene mostly because of the male/female vocal trade-offs and guitar riffs.Both vocals were superb I must add! I didn't upload any photos because they didn't want to and I respect that.Looking forward for a release,get in the studio you lazy punks! Next were my good friends Kalazaar also from Athens,'80's Finnish inspired anarcho-punk/hc as fuck!!! Songs that build to a massive circle pit are my all-time favorites! I even tried a backside stage dive but failed (...this is not the first time actually!) and now I suffer from a terrible pain on my ribs! But who cares?? It was fuckin' awesome!!! We got them to play their best song again 'cause one time is never enough! Fuck That Shit!!!! No photos of them for the same reasons.
After all this slam dancing chaos it was time for some industrial punk by Grrrz from France. They are a two-piece but let me assure you that from the start I realized that they don't need more members! They use a lot of pre-recorded bits and add basses,samples and more stuff on top as well a live fuzzed out guitar with a lot of feedback and distortion.The vocals go through a pitch shifter if I understood correct.Overall they keep everything from falling apart but at the same time you can hear everything clearly and their music is quite dance-able actually! I'll give it a shot and try to pull some comparisons,imagine (if you can!) German elektro/industrial mixed with French art-punk!!! Now that's some weird shit! They're set was long and I got drunker and drunker as time past! Awesome night!

Highlights of the night:
1.Landing on my back after a failed stage dive
2.Getting totally drunk
3.Arriving at a rave party after the show and falling off from my friend's motorbike while he attempted (a rather failed) wheelie! More pain for me!
4.Getting more drunk so I can't feel the pain anymore!

A new post after a long time! I was looking forward to this show and I had great expectations as Masshysteri consists members from The Vicious which I really loved! Thankfully my expectations were proven right plus I got to see 24 Hours again and they were fuckin' great for once more! On to the show now...first were Teenheat who in my opinion just copy the Ramones,I never liked the Ramones and I don't like bands who copy them,plain and simple! Anyway,people seemed to enjoy their set so I'll just shut up! I took no pics of them 'cause I had some other stuff to take care. 24 Hours were next and although the sound wasn't that good they managed to get their feeling of their music out.Last time I compared them to Hot Water Music,I was way wrong They are more of a garage-rock band with some bits of punk and with a lot of melodic guitar parts.I really like the singers' voice,it fits perfectly! Masshysteri started really energetic and got everyone dancing to their pop-ish punk tunes from the middle of the first song! Very tight as a band and with a very personal sound,something hard to accomplish in this genre! They even played two songs from The Vicious,Walking Dead (my favorite!) and Masshysteri. The people were cheering for more songs after their set and they played four more songs and called it a night.Even for a fairly new band they had a lot of songs! Closing I must say that I was surprised to see that a lot of people showed up to the show while at the same time there were 2 more shows going on! Disorder played last night too (yes,the Disorder from the U.K) and there was also the Legalize it festival (a free fest for the legalization of weed!). Until next time.....stay punk fuckers!

Here's a great new grindcore band from Athens! This was their first show and they left very positive impressions with their fast as fuck,grinding and skull-crashing songs! Sort songs with pitch shifted vocals,howling bass and crazy blastbeats,no filler all killer! After their set were See You In Hell and Sheevayoga but I had to leave and anyway i saw them the day before!
Keep an eye on Devastation Of Life,i heard they'll release a record soon,good luck to them!

AntiMob/Burial Greek Tour pt.3 (Kavala w/t See You In Hell and Sheevayoga)

This was the first time most of us visited Kavala and I must confess that it's a beautiful city with few but dedicated punx nevertheless! The show took place at Accion Mutante squat located inside the university campus,we could see the whole city and the sea from the squats' windows,awesome! On to the show now...AntiMob played first and they had a powerful show with great crowd response,next were See You In Hell from Czech Republic,for those unfamiliar with them,they play a mix of european hc that borders with Japcore and crust vocals.Their set was very energetic and the singer was performing some kind of theatrical drama! Sheevayoga (also from Czech Rep) took the stage next and cracked some skulls with their power-violence sounds.They have a sound similar to Infest,which of course is great! Great set too! This was the last show in the tour for Burial so they were really excited and it showed! They were out of fuckin' control! When the first song kicked in there were bodies flying and a massive circle pit (considering the few people,only 50 to 60),even the guy that set up the show and took care of the sound jumped head first into the pit! Fuck yes! Hands down,the best show i've ever been to!

Fear of tomorrow,fear of tomorrow,fear of tomorrow....no sun in the sky!!!!

Second day of the tour was in Thessaloniki. I didn't get any photos from the opening band SardaNapalm Death because I had to set up the distro and i found an old friend of mine! Anyway,SardaNapalm Death play hc/punk with heavy vocals,typical greek hc/punk.AntiMob played next,this was their first show in Thessaloniki and the people seemed to dig them,but very few people were dancing.I didn't took any photos from Burial this time because i was sitting at their distro...bummer! Their show was energetic as always but people didn't dance at their set either...come on punx! let go the frustration life offers us every single day out of your system! Circle pit!!! Swartzandanger played last and they kicked in great. They only have one 40 minute long song but they've managed to keep things interesting with a lot of tempo changes and breakdowns,they have a heavy as fuck neo-grindcore/metal/crust sound,awesome!

The show in Athens was fuckin' awesome! First were Dyspnea from Tyrnavos and this was their first time in Athens. Dyspnea play old-school Scandi-hc/crust with some influences from old greek crust bands,even though they didn't play with their original line-up they were great! AntiMob took the stage next and got the punx dancing with their Japcore-influenced hc/punk tunes.They did some mistakes in some songs but that's ok,i'll try to forgive them! Great! Last were the almighty Burial from Germany,this was their first official show in Athens (last time they came the show was canceled because there was a problem with Villa Amalias squat were the show was being held,but they managed to play a secret gig!). What more can I say about Burial?...Full throttle Japcore attack! One of the best bands right now! The punx went fuckin' nuts from the first song as did the band members too! The highlight was the Blitz cover,the circle pit turned to a windmill!!!

Last night was great! It was kinda exceptional because of the snow (last time it snowed in Athens was 3-4 years ago!).I wasn't in a good mood and I was hoping maybe a good show would make feel any better and I was right, Allee Der Kosmonauten gave me exactly what I needed to cheer me up!
First were Timetrap from Athens,they had a good set with some new songs.They play old-school thrash/heavy metal with a lot classic rock influences,not my cup of tea really but good nevertheless.Next were Allee Der Kosmonauten from Germany,a great post-hc/crust band. Actually I don't think anyone can describe their sound,it's one of these love'em or hate'em bands! I love them!
Last band was Prigorine from Thesaloniki,when these guys started their set I realized that I've heard these songs again and I was right! My band (Reststoffen) played with them in Thesalonki some months ago,but I couldn't find out their name and now here they are! Anyway they have a Rage Against The Machine sound but with a hc feeling! I know this sounds weird but it's the best I can come up with! I really enjoyed them!

Less talk,more snowball!

Last nights' shows was a blast! I never had the chance to see any of these bands before and i must admit that all of them fuckin' rocked! First on the bill were 24 Hours,a great kinda new band from Athens.I can't exactly describe their sound but I'll try! Mid-tempo,rock (or is it post-rock?) with some punk leanings and many melodies in the guitar section.Like Hot Water Music without the hardcore influences! Next were Carbonaras from Thessaloniki,their sound is somewhere between 60's psychedelic rock and surf rock'n'roll! They bring to mind the almighty Man Or Astro-man? These guys know how to play their instruments! Last were Bad Trip,another band from Thessaloniki (there's got to be something in the water in this city! So many great bands). Post-hardcore at it's best! They take a lot of elements from bands like Isis (Oceanic,Celestial era) and Neurosis but add a personal feeling that comes out great! Maybe it was the samples they used (noisy,ambient,echo) that added great to the mix. One last thing: Bad Trips' drummer has some real issues with his drum set! He almost destroyed everything!

ΔΟΛΟΦΟΝΙΚΗ ΕΠΙΘΕΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΠΑΡΑΚΡΑΤΟΥΣ ΕΝΑΝΤΙΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΛΕΣΧΗ ΚΑΛΛΙΔΡΟΜΙΟΥ 94

Τα ξημερώματα της Πρωτοχρονιάς περίπου στις 3.30 πμ και ενώ στον χώρο της Λέσχης Καλλιδρομίου 94 γίνονταν πρωτοχρονιάτικο πάρτι, άγνωστος έριξε μια βόμβα μολότοφ μικρής ισχύος μέσα στον χώρο του στεκιού.
Η βόμβα έπεσε πάνω σε μια φίλη της λέσχης που εκείνη την ώρα βρίσκονταν στα σκαλοπάτια της εισόδου και την τραυμάτισε ευτυχώς ελαφρά, αν και ρούχα της πήραν φωτιά. Στο χώρο της Λέσχης δεν έγιναν παρά μικρές υλικές ζημιές.
Αυτόπτες μάρτυρες μιλάνε τουλάχιστον για έναν δράστη που φορούσε πορτοκαλί μπουφάν και μαύρο παντελόνι ο οποίος κατέβηκε τα σκαλοπάτια της εισόδου μέχρι τα μισά και βλέποντας κόσμο να κάθεται σε αυτά, δεν προχώρησε παρακάτω, ρίχνοντας πάνω τους την μικρής ισχύος βόμβα.
Ίσως αν δεν έβρισκε κόσμο μπροστά του να πέταγε την βόμβα μέσα στον συγκεντρωμένο κόσμο που διασκέδαζε εκείνη την ώρα, με συνέπειες τραγικές.
Ο άγνωστος τράπηκε σε φυγή πριν προλάβουν να τον εντοπίσουν ούτε αυτόν ούτε πιθανούς συνεργάτες του τα μέλη της περιφρούρησης της λέσχης.
Μέσα σε ένα γενικότερο κλίμα παρακρατικών επιθέσεων που γίνονται τον τελευταίο καιρό εναντίον διάφορων πολιτικών και συνδικαλιστικών χώρων και εναντίον της Λέσχης της Καλλιδρομίου αυτή είναι το αποκορύφωμα, καθώς αυτήν την φορά δεν επιχειρήθηκε απλά η "υλική ζημιά" και η τρομοκράτηση μας, αλλά είχαμε ΑΠΟΠΕΙΡΑ ΔΟΛΟΦΟΝΙΑΣ.
Ανεξάρτητα από τον/τους συγκεκριμένο/ους φυσικό/ους αυτουργό/ους αυτής της επίθεσης, πρέπει να σημειώσουμε ότι αυτή έγινε μέσα σε ένα συνολικότερο κλίμα επιθέσεων σε αυτή την γειτονιά των Εξαρχείων αλλά και σε ολόκληρη την Αθήνα.
Μερικές μέρες πιο πριν άγνωστοι διέρρηξαν και προκάλεσαν ζημιά στα γραφεία τεσσάρων σωματείων που εδρεύουν στην περιοχή των Εξαρχείων, ενώ σε άλλο επεισόδιο παρακρατικοί φασίστες μαχαίρωσαν έξω από ένα μπαρ της περιοχής έναν νεαρό που νοσηλεύεται στο νοσοκομείο.
Επιπλέον λίγες μέρες πριν την επίθεση στην Λέσχη Καλλιδρομίου, άγνωστοι επιχείρησαν να κάψουν το στέκι του ΘΕΡΣΙΤΗ, στους Αγ. Αναργύρους (η δεύτερη απόπειρα το τελευταίο εξάμηνο), ενώ την επόμενη μέρα της επίθεσης στην Λέσχη, έγινε απόπειρα εμπρησμού στο στέκι της ΠΡΩ.ΚΑΤ. (Πρωτοβουλία Κατοίκων) στα νότια προάστια.
Βρισκόμαστε δηλαδή μέσα σε ένα κλίμα τρομοκρατικών επιθέσεων εναντίον αγωνιζόμενων πολιτικών, συνδικαλιστικών χώρων. Αυτό δεν είναι άσχετο με την συνολικότερη κατάσταση στην κοινωνία:
Ένα αστυνομικό κράτος καταστολής και μια κυβέρνηση παραλυμένη, που βουλιάζουν μέσα στην δίνη πολιτικών και οικονομικών σκανδάλων, με ένα τεράστιο απεργιακό μέτωπο ανοιχτό, με συνολικότερη σήψη και αποσύνθεση των ίδιων των θεσμών της αστικής δημοκρατίας και που γι’ αυτόν τον λόγο είναι υποχρεωμένοι να παραβιάζουν τα ίδια τα όρια της δικής τους νομιμότητας και να «αναθέτουν» σε παρακρατικούς μηχανισμούς διάφορα τρομοκρατικά προληπτικά χτυπήματα, ενάντια σε όσους αγωνίζονται.
Την ίδια στιγμή που όπως φάνηκε στις πρόσφατες εκλογές με την άνοδο του ακροδεξιού ΛΑΟΣ, υποθάλπονται ανοιχτά οι φασιστικές και φασίζουσες ιδέες στην κοινωνία και βρίσκουν κάποια σχετικά μαζική απήχηση.
Επειδή θεωρούμε ότι το ζήτημα δεν είναι κυρίως ή πρωτίστως θέμα μικρών και μεμονωμένων παρακρατικών συμμοριών, αλλά ένας συνολικότερος κίνδυνος ενάντια στο εργατικό, νεολαϊστικο κίνημα, απαιτείται η αντιμετώπιση του με μαζικές διαδικασίες.
Γι’ αυτόν τον λόγο καλούμε κάθε οργάνωση, κάθε συλλογικότητα, κάθε στέκι και κάθε μεμονωμένο αγωνιστή σε μια πρώτη συνάντηση, την Τρίτη 8 Ιανουαρίου στις 8 μμ στην Λέσχη Υπογείως στην Καλλιδρομίου με σκοπό σε μια πρώτη φάση την συν-διοργάνωση μιας συγκέντρωσης διαμαρτυρίας/ καταγγελίας για τα τελευταία γεγονότα που πρέπει να γίνει το συντομότερο δυνατόν, με σκοπό:

Να ενημερώσουμε τις γειτονιές που παρεμβαίνουμε
Να ενημερώσουμε τους συναδέλφους στα σωματεία μας και τους μετανάστες συναδέλφους μας που πρώτοι βιώνουν τις παρακρατικές επιθέσεις στο πετσί τους.
Να καλέσουμε σε διαρκή συστράτευση και περιφρούρηση σε όλα τα αυτό-οργανωμένα εγχειρήματα μας και σε κάθε εκδήλωση του κινήματος.
Να δημιουργήσουμε μια σταθερή παρέμβαση ενάντια στην κρατική και παρακρατική τρομοκρατία.

This show was for celebrating the 1 year of Orfanotrofeio squat in Thessaloniki. The first band (i don't know their name and unfortunately i didn't take any pictures of them!) were from Thessaloniki and they played modern hardcore/thrash and they were very good at it! Reststoffen (my band!) were next,this was our first show and i must say that it was really good apart from some mistakes i did in a couple of songs...hehe! (we decided not to upload any pictures!) Next were Nagasaki Nightmare from Rome,Italy.Mid-paced crust,D-beat with great double vocals,one voice was straight from the gutter and the other one was high-pitched that at times sounded like fuckin' crazy black metal!!! Their sound brings to mind Fall Of Efrafa in a much rawer version! Last were Post Fata Resurgo also from Rome,they were all over the place, fantastic crust/hc/metal with male/female vocals. At times they reminded me of Unkind and/or Ictus! Everything was great and we'd like to thank all the kids from the squat for everything (the best food i had,thanks!!!....thanks for giving us a place to stay!) Happy Birthday Orfanotrofeio!!!

Two great bands from Brazil here,Crust Division and Korozao. Crust Division play crazy thrashcore with some metal thrown in for a good measure,their stage presence was fuckin' awesome! From the first struck of the chord they went ape shit!!! They brought to mind the Brazilian thrash legends Ratos De Porao. Next were Korozao with their total Sepultura worship,but to tell the truth I enjoy Korozao more than Sepultura..hehe! Both bands were great and really nice people too. By the way I tried some shots with slow shutter speeds and I believe they came out pretty good...very cool!

I arrived a bit late so i missed the opening band Friki, although i've seen them 3 times by now i just wanted more of their old-school thrash-death metal! The next band was XFor No Reasonx and this was also the 3rd time i saw these guys and i must confess that this was their best show! It was like going back to 1984! Straightedge hc played fast like Side By Side,Youth Of Today and the like (take a look at the picture with the singer and the guy with the straightedge t-shirt!). These guys were jumping all the fuckin' time!!! Antimaster from Mexico cracked my scull open with their pulverizing crust sounds!!! Incredible! Although they had some kind of a personal sound,i would say they were a mix between Skitsystem and Ekkaia.
More crust please....

This time i decided to get pictures only with my analog camera so i could try some ''artistic'' shots, but it ended in total disaster!!! The camera lens i used were kinda fucked up and all the photos came out blur, of course i did some awful mistakes too! Anyway, the show was awesome, all the bands were great and there was a lot of diversity from band to band. First was a band that joined the bill the last minute and i wasn't able to get their name, they played some good old punk rock'n'roll in the vein of Social Distortion. Human Battle from Athens took over the stage next with their tuneful street punk which sounded a lot like The Restarts. Biochemical Virus from Thessaloniki played next and they amped things up a bit more with their crusty punk, next were Greet the Dead,a crust band not unlike From Ashes Rise. Varukers destroyed everything in their path with their raw d-beat attack and the in-your-face lyrical attack delivered from Rat! Everyone was stage-diving (or at least was trying to) and the pogo stopped only after the last track! Last were Rajaahta from Kavala, a great band delivering raw 80's Finnish hc with covers from Kaaos,Bastards,Mob 47 and some of their own material as well.
Stay punk or stay away!!!

What more do you need on a Sunday afternoon than an intense punk show!!! It was clear from the start that this show would be fuckin' awesome! First on the bill were Anti-Mob from Athens with their Japanese influenced punk/hc and their ferocious energy on stage,next were Born/Dead from Oakland CA,fast old-school anarcho-hc/punk.I've been listening to their records for quite some time and I was dying to see them play,I almost forgot to take some pictures from their set cause i was too busy in the small circle pit!!! Finally the almighty Swartzandanger left almost everyone speechless with their epic crust/grind/metal/sludge 40 minute long song!!! Fuckin' A! By the way Will (guitarist and singer of Born/Dead) and Panos Asthma (KS94 collective,Mountza zine) had their birthdays and we threw a small party afterwards! Happy Birthday guys!

Since this was the first show of the season and because they didn't had any show booked in Athens, I decided to take a short trip to Thessaloniki (that's 500 km from Athens) to watch Guided Cradle blow some heads with their crusty D-beat! Guided Cradle are from Czech Republic and they just released their second LP ''You will not survive''. These guys blow you from the start with their raw,full overdriven,metallic D-beat! I would also like to thank the people from Delta squat for giving me a place to stay while in Thessaloniki.

Another wildfire broke out in Greece,in southern Peloponisos this time. The fire started in the early afternoon and it spread fast due to strong winds in the area. By now the fire has killed 19 people and burned down more than 10 villages. The area the fire broke out was one of the most beautiful places in Greece, a great forest which was a habitat to a lot of animals,small villages that lived from agriculture and an unspoiled,small paradise called Kaiafa. 125 fires in one day!!!! How the fuck can this happen?! And when i opened the tv,to watch about the fire,all i could hear was fuckin' excuses!! They said they're sad of what happened,yet they didn't tried to hard to prevent it (they only have 7 Canadeer planes and the 2-3 of them are disabled!!) and there were not enough firefighting squads.They said that they mourn for the people that died but all these people in the end all they get are lies,promises and some more empty promises!!! They said they are sad for all the property that burned down and destroyed! No politician said anything about the ecological destruction that the fire caused,about all the animals that died (and i think that there are some rare species in that area). So here it is....we're about to live the bleak future that all these years we had only seen in crust record covers! Gasmasks and all that stuff. My only wish is to see all the people responsible for the destruction of the planet hanged or being ripped in shreds by a flock of wolves!!! There's nothing left anymore......

Arm Your Desires Festival @ Tyrnavos

After 3 days of non-stop party and live shows i'm back to the misery of everyday life...shit! Anyway,the first official Arm Your Desires festival was fuckin' great despite the bad weather, luckily the kids that organized the fest were prepared for the worst and everything rolled smoothly,when the rain started to fall they covered the stage with two tents so the bands could play. The worst thing that happened was that my cameras' batteries went out at some point and i only got pictures from 5 bands out of 16 that played both days....here are some of them.From top to bottom:Swartzandanger (grindcore-metal),Nekra Katsikia Trikavalo (crust),Terrorismo Musical(goregrind),xFor No Reasonx (old-school hc),Dyspnea (crust)

This was the only show i managed to see in Germany but it was great.The show took place in Koepi which is a squat,currently under the threat of eviction,in east Berlin.The first band was Valpourgia Nyxta from Greece and that was the first show of their first tour.They play punk rock but with a lot dark melodies and they have a violin on some songs which sounds great.They describe themselves as eco-punks.I've seen them play a lot of times but this show was their best! Next was Disnight Bastards from Spain,they play D-beat crust with some Finnish hc parts and they have two vocalists trading vocals from high to low pitch.The last band was Distress from Russia.It was the first time i saw a band from Russia and i didn't know what to expect but these guys fuckin'ripped!!! Amazing swedish-like hc crust like Wolfbrigade but with way more overdrive on their guitars and vocals straight from the depths of hell! Just what i needed for my vacations to be completely perfect!

Greek punx attack Germany!!

For the next ten days i'll be in Germany with fellow punx.Our goal is to taste all the famous german beers and see as many bands as we can take!!! Unfortunately we'll miss the Packenbusch festival organised by Yellow Dog records but there'll be more great shows and i'll have my camera with me!! On the 4th and 5th of August takes place the second annual festival in Tyrnavo,near Larissa with Aktivna Propaganda,Pavilionoul 32 and more great bands...don't miss it! It's in a great place under the shadows of huge trees,next to small artificial lake with ducks and there's also enough space to put up your tent.It will be like a punx pic-nic!!!....Until then...keep resisting and stay punk!

Power-violence attack!!! Magrudergrind from Washington DC,U.S fuckin'ripped! They played a crazy set despite the unbearable heat. This was the last show for this season and i dare to say that it was one of the best shows i've seen lately,no need for a bass since the guitarist is a wall of distorted guitars by himself and it sounds perfect. Highlight of the show: singers' high jumps and the closing song: rehashed unmastered! They also win the title for the best song name ever!!! Emo Holocaust!!! Do not miss this band live!!!Fuck artsy,fartsy fashion grindcore.

For the last 48 hours a fire was raging in the last wildlife resort in Athens,placed in the mount Parnitha.The fire started in the early afternoon(27/6) and after two hours came the first firefight squad with 4 firefighters(!!!) The residents of the region did whatever they could to not let the fire expand.In Parnitha there's also a casino....seems that the fire department gave orders to their squads to protect the casino first from the fire!!! The fire became uncontrollable and could not be under control 'till late in the night on the 28th.
Now this once beautiful place looks like a napalmed site....burn the casinos,not the forests....revenge now!

So...finally summer's here and we got another great live show,this time time it's Magrudergrind (power-violence from u.s) and the greek crust band Hibernation.This show will be the last of the ''season'', apart from the two festivals,(Athens and Tyrnavo near Larissa) with mostly greek punk-hc-crust bands,but more about that on future posts! As for the tortures in the greek police station in Omonia,what more can we say? They try to make the people believe that it was a ''happened-only-once'' incident!...Well ofcourse they're lying.The last 3 years more than 9 people died in greek prisons and police stations under unknown circumstances,most of them belonged to minority groups such as immigrants,mentally ill and heroin addicts....suspicious isn't it?
More bad news is that another squat in Spain got evicted and demolished some days ago..a message to cops,politicians and any authority figures:''keep your fuckin' hands off the squats!!!''

Squat in Keramiko,Greece got evicted

Millerou & Germanikou squat existed for 10 months....yesterday got evicted.The eviction took place in the early morning (7:00pm),the timing was planned so supporters could not be there and maybe try to stop the eviction. The squatters got arrested and they were all at first prosecuted,but after a short court session they were all set free.

Stopkox is a great punk/hc band from Germany and most of their lyrics are focused on animal/earth liberation issues.This must have been their 2nd or 3rd time in greece as a band.The best thing about their music is that they managed to have a personal sound which is a hard thing to do in such an overplayed genre.Great shows too!
